What a day. For once, I turned up on time - so a couple of hours before
low tide. First hit the water with my 4.5 and it was pretty much perfect
for the first hour. The ramps were really good and I was buzzing. Then
the wind wend a bit iffy for a while, but still really good. Then 1/2 hour
of lulls took me downwind so had a bit of a walk of shame. Couple more
runs, but wasn't convinced, so went in to change up to my 5m. Hit the
water again along with a big gust and thought I'd made a mistake, but it
settled down and on balance it was a good thing to do. Pulled off a
scrappy duck gybe and had a go at a heli tack, which I'd never attempted
with my wave board. I might do them more often, as I always fall in, so I
might as well!
